Being Thankful......

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to touch base with everyone......

This month is about thankfuls and believe me, we have a lot to be thankful for. We are so blessed with all the love and support from so many people in our lives. We are thrilled to have met some wonderful people who support us during hard times with Jenna and even have those whom we have never met support us in our lives. We started this month with seeing Dr H, Jenna's cardiologist in Huntington. He thought she looked and sounded great. Being the usual worried, wondering mom I started asking lots of questions about her recent cath. He was very polite and answered all, with news I wanted and did not want. But then he ended with saying, "Mommy, if we always focus on the future, we will never get to enjoy the present. Enjoy the present with your babygirl." So I had to walk away, try not to think about what her life would be like in 5, 10 or 20 years and just be happy she is here. So be blessed with what you have, you never know what each day will hold.

A little later in the month we received our packet from Make A Wish for our Disney trip. We are so excited and cannot wait. She is getting to have a makeover with the princesses, which she has decided that she will be Ariel. I cannot wait to see her, she will be more beautiful than she is now. The group is paying for our trip, but does not just give handouts for everything you want to do. While, we are very thankful for the trip to be provided mostly for us, we want this to be absolutely magical for her. This is a once and a lifetime trip for her to feel completely special. We were advised any additional things such as special character dinners or extra prizes we would need to provide on our own. So, while we are not asking for a handout because we are very thankful, our wonderful friends have decided to set up a fundraiser for her and the trip. We have been sooooo blessed for our friends to be so helpful with this process. Earlier in the year, we were also blessed with additional friends to help us with raising money to help pay for medical expenses for our upcoming cath trip and open heart surgery. Now that she is not having that right now, the remaining money is going to help pay for her medical expenses incurred next year, since she no longer qualifies for the medical card through the state. I am hoping to figure out how to link this fundraiser on the blog here, if anyone wants to help with her trip. Do not feel obligated to do so, but if you want, we greatly appreciate it.

A few days ago we celebrated Thanksgiving. We had a great time with family and enjoyed the great food and company. Jenna enjoyed spending time with her cousins and playing. It was a great day, Justin has been working really hard lately, with long hours and it was great to spend the day together. I am so thankful to have a husband who works so hard to take care of our family.  He is a wonderful father to Jenna and I could not be more thankful of him for being a loving husband. I am so blessed.

So again, we are so thankful for wonderful friends, family, and even strangers! We have praised through this storm of our life, thanks to all of you!  Can't wait to show you all pics of her trip!!
