Resting......

Just wanted to let everyone know that Jenna has had another calm day. No new changes for any of her medicines this evening, nor has she had any major issues with her breathing. We are still waiting on a time and date for her surgery. No word yet, the attending doctor is hoping in the next day or so. We will see. Right now daddy is attempting to get her to sleep and we are going to take advantage of that and get some rest as well. So, just wanted to let everyone know that she is fine, just trying to heal from everything and rest up for the next step. So, once we hear an answer we will let everyone know. We want to thank everyone for all of the cards and gifts sent to us! We have over 80 cards on her wall posted from everyone, it means SO MUCH!!!! We love it! We just want to thank everyone and could not ask for a better support group, everyone is so impressed here on how blessed and loved that Jenna is back home! Thanks to everyone for the thoughts and prayers also, keep them coming! Talk soon.

Love, Jenny, Justin and Jenna

  1. Jenny,

I work with your Mom. I just wanted you all to know that you are in my prayers as well as my family & my church family. I somewhat understand the pain that you and Justin are going through. We have a little boy Owen who was born on March 28, 2007 he was born with a very rare condition called Vein of Galen Malformation. When he was born we did not know anything about this he was immediately taken to the NICU & treated for Pulmonary Hyper Tension then after two weeks we were on the Osilator & Nitric and the right side of his heart had gotten enlarged. They sent us to Columbus Childrens hospital thinking that ECMO (Complete Life Support) may be his next step. The work up for that was a head ultrasound and that is when they discovered what Owen had. Once they discovered what he had they did not give us much hope. Since he was in Heart Failure & Respitory Failure along with the Vein of Galen Malformation they said he only had a 4% chance of surving. They said that they had to try to operate but was not sure they would be able to help him. They told us there were only 5 surgeons in the world who had operated on this and did not have a success story to tell us. We were blessed to have one of the surgeons just 15 minutes from the hospital. To make a long story short we spent 2 months in Columbus living in the Ronald McDonald house while our 4 1/2 year son was at home with family. Owen had 2 brain surgeries within a week. We just had the third one which will hopefully be our last one in May of this year. They think they have cured his malforamtion. I can sympathize with you guys. When I read Jenna's updates is sounds a lot like what we went through with Owen all of the ups and downs, changes, set backs and the terrible withdrawl. Parents should not have to see their precious babies go through that. I just wanted you guys to know that you are prayed for every single day. Keep the Faith God does answer prayers.

  6. Jenny,

I work with your mom and it seems like from day one we have talked about your precious little angel. Glad to hear she had a good day. Just want to let you know that Jenna has been in everyone's thoughts and prayers. I requested special prayer for Jenna and your family at our church, everyone has been praying. I would say that the Lord must have known that the two of you were special people and would make wonderful parents when he gave Jenna to you. Take care, trust the Lord and hold fast to his promises. My thought and prayers are with you and your family.
