Change of Plans....

Well, there has been a slight change of plans.....
How frustrating is it to prepare for a journey and things to change at the last minute. Yesterday morning, I received a phone call from Holly, the nurse practitioner at Cincinnati stating that they would like to change Jenna's heart cath date. She states that Dr. Beekman her cardiologist was not comfortable with the layout of Wednesday and felt that it would not be fair to Jenna and would like to reschedule her date. Jenna was scheduled to begin Wednesday at 2pm; however, the first case on for this day was a little boy who has further developed complications, requiring additional surgery. So, this was going to take longer than normal. Thus, putting the start of the next case behind, and then Jenna (3rd case) even more behind. The doctor is projecting Jenna's case alone to take up to 5 hours to complete. So, it was possible that she would not get out of the OR until 10pm on Wednesday. Dr. Beekman did not want to do this to her and he also wanted himself and his staff to 100% for her case. He states that there is quite of bot to do during her procedure and he wants his full attention on her case. Therefore, we have moved her date to now begin on Sept. 17th at 7:30am. He states that this way he can completely focus on her, and not feel rushed during the situation. We will go up to ohio on the 15th, do her tests on the 16th and be admitted directly after to prepare for the next day. Holly stated that Dr. Beekman feels that her case is very important and wants to take plenty of time. So, we will not go for a couple of weeks. I now have to unpack everything which is a pain, but it spares the nervous feelings for a few more weeks. Thanks to everyone and we will talk soon.
