A calm afternoon......

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to drop a quick note on Jenna's afternoon and evening. She did well, they did her trial of hi flow twice today, which she did well. Her heartrate did not go up this time, she just started to slightly breathe harder at the end. But she did well for the most part, she did let us know that she wanted her mask back on so that she could sleep. During tonight's trial she slept through it mostly and through the entire time they were putting the mask back on. Prior to her falling asleep, they did manage to get her frace washed and reapply cream to help with her skin breakdown and also to brush her teeth (she loves this so much!!). She has done well today after them lowering her Ativan dose slightly, a little jumpy but ok because she will show a little signs of withdrawl. Not nearly like before. They will probably lower her methadone dose in the next day or so, depending on how she does. I did express concern to the nurse and fellow on this evening that I am afraid that she will be moved to quickly tapering on the medicine and would feel better if they took it slow. He said that they will discuss it in rounds in the morning. They gave her a little extra Lasix tonight to help pull fluid off, she is a little puffy. They are going to give some blood because her blood level dropped one number, it is still in normal range but on the low end. They just want to make sure if by chance if she bleeds again, that there is "extra" blood in her body to compensate. They are not concerned that she will bleed, they are just being cautious. So, tonight is all about rest and relaxation. Tomorrow they may increase her "sprint" trials on the hi flow oxygen, just depends on how she does. But no other new changes. We are glad for a quiet evening. So, we are going to get some rest, since she is asleep. She has managed to sleep for the last hour, while the staff has been fixing her bipap machine, for some reason it would not ventilate, so she had to get a new one. But all is well now!!

It was brought to Justin and I's attention today that we have been in the hospital for 35 days now. We cannot believe it has been this long and are so stressed that we are going to be here for at least another month. This is a little hard to take, considering we thought that we would only be here for 2-3 weeks. But, as we have been told before, just because she comes in for her heart, it does not mean that something else will not happen to keep her in the hospital longer. So, we will take this in strides and hope that she continues on the path to recovery. Thanks to everyone for being understanding that we are just under a lot of stress and if we may seem a little "short" when we talk to everyone, we apologize. We are just tired and have a lot of emotions running at this point. We thank everyone again for everything. Hugs to everyone and we will talk soon.

Love, Jenny, Justin and Jenna

  7. Stressed????
    Can't even imagine why!!!
You all are so entitled to stress, tears, frustration, upset tummies, you name it, you so deserve the opportunity to vent and release!
YOu all are sooooo loved and prayed for every day all day long from soooo many people.
Don't forget to take time to take a deep breath and feel all the arms of people (many, many you don't even know) holding you all up.
    Love to you all.

  8. JJJ,
I want to say that I love you and I can't wait to see you this weekend. Just know that when people badger you about the blog or your approach they are ignorant to what you are going through. The pain, suffering and stress that you are experiencing is unimaginable and you have every reason to react the way you need to to cope.

I am praying for your strength all the time.
    Love, Aunt Missy/Sis
