Next step....

Today we heard from her Cardiologist in OH, Dr. Beekman. He said that discussed her case and feel that she is ready to have open heart surgery again. He said that it will be in the next 2-3 months and they will be closing the hole in her heart and opening her arteries in her lungs, mostly the left to help improve blood flow. He said that the hole needs to be closed at this point because of the amount of blood flow pushing through at a high pressure and over time will damage her heart. This is a healthier option her long term. He said that prior to her surgery we will have a CT scan and meet with her surgeon Dr. Eghtesady to discuss the case. Any questions which are in reference to her surgery will be discussed at that time. He said that we will always continue to see him every 6 months to help expand her arteries and will most likely come back again close to the end of the this year.

The next week we hear from Patrice, scheduler for Jenna's heart surgeon and her case was scheduled for Dr. Eghtesady on July 30, 2009 and we are to meet him on June 23, 2009 and have her CT scan.

We went to see Dr. Eghtesady at the appointment scheduled June 23. We had her CT scan done and went to meet with her surgeon but was not able to because he had an emergency case which tied him up. So needless to say we had to come back to WV with unanswered questions. Happily though, I spoke with him on Friday June 26, 2009 for over an hour about her case in detail.

So, once she has the surgery we will keep everyone posted on her status. Thanks for all of the thoughts and prayers at this time.
