Just wanted to let everyone know that Jenna is doing great. She came out of surgery around 10:30a-we were able to see her around 12:30 finally. The patch was opened about half with a punch hole. She is resting right now. He wants her to relax this weekend and keep comfortable. The surgeon is hoping to get her off the ventilator Monday or Tuesday and if goes planned to be off the unit and on the regular floor by late next week. She still is not out of the woods and has quite a recovery process to go through at this point. He would like to send her home on a very agressive blood thinner from all of the vessel work done, such as Lovenox or Plavix. This will not be long term, we will eventually switch to aspirin again. He stated that her lifestyle will not change at this point, she will still remain out of day care because of her risk for illness. His focus right now is to get her healed and home, he is concerned that she will have issues with her sternum healing since he has opened her twice in one week. So, he is increasing her lipids and starting her vital jr. (pediasure) tonight. So, I wanted to keep everyone updated. I will post more details later today-just wanted to not keep everyone in suspense on her status. We thank everyone for the support and love and keep us in your prayers, especially babygirl.
